Community Service Opportunities

Do you need community service hours?

Don’t worry, your friends here at the Raider Roundup have put together a list of wonderful opportunities to keep an eye on during October and November!

Keep Boston Beautiful will be hosting park cleanups throughout autumn. Check out their calendar to find a time and location that’ll work for you, and help make the Greater Boston Area sparkle!

Quincy Family Resource Center hosts a wide variety of resource drives focused on assisting lower-income families in our city. If you are interested in assisting with their annual Trunk-or-Treat, Thanksgiving meal distribution, or their clothing drives, please contact their volunteer inquiry email.

Salvation Army’s Quincy Corps gets quite busy in November as they prepare to serve our city during the winter months. Pitch in for a multitude of programs; food bank preparation, Christmas toy sorting, or even become a bell ringer and help them fundraise around town!

Are you too busy in the fall? We got you covered! Here’s a list of volunteer opportunities all year round:

Quincy Community Actions Programs(QCAP) runs a food pantry year round, supporting low income families. In addition QCAP also runs a Santa Workshop from November-December. Both opportunities help students make a positive impact within the community. If you are interested please contact their volunteer inquiry email.

Thomas Crane Library provides volunteer opportunities for students throughout the year. Students can gain volunteer hours by shelving books at the library. Or join the Teen Advisory Board (exclusive to the main and north quincy library) where students organize teen events at the library and do monthly book displays. There are four library branches in Quincy so you can go to the most convenient one for you. The North Quincy Branch in particular is just a few minutes from North Quincy High School!

The Prison Book program is an impactful volunteer opportunity. They have been sorting and sending books to incarcerated people since 1972! In 2025 Prion Book Program mailed about 65,000 books to about 18,500 incarcerated people over 1000 correctional facilities across the United States. They strive to support individuals in prison by providing free books to build a progressive and uplifting environment. If you are interested, check out their volunteer schedule to sign up.

Holly Hill Farm offers students the opportunity to work outdoors. At the farm, students may assist with weeding, composting, flower delivery, and other farm related tasks. Those interested should check out their website and fill out the registration form!
